Covid 19 Update
Golf resumes next Monday, May 18th and there is a major responsibility on golf clubs and members to ensure our sport is conducted in a safe and responsible manner. Our sport is in a very privileged position to be allowed resume at this stage but the return is based on the sport being able to demonstrate to Government that it can take place in a safe and socially distant manner.
We, the Club’s Management Committee are well aware of our responsibilities therefore and are asking our members to cooperate with us over the next three weeks.
The Government have laid out its restrictions on movements aimed at containing the spread of the corona-virus, and per those restriction members living within 5km of the club can play golf from May 18th. The roadmap to reopening of society and business extends that limit to 20km from June 8th.
Whilst golf clubs must ensure that the game is played safely, it is the responsibility of individual members to observe society-wide public health guidelines and to adhere to the movement restrictions – and we fully expect that all members will do their part by adhering to the current government advice.
Time-sheets from Monday next to Sunday 24th May will be open this Wednesday (13th of May 2020) from 9 pm (21:00 Hrs).
Time-sheets for the following week (Monday to Sunday) will open on Wednesday 20th May 2020 and will follow that pattern until further notice.
Time-sheet will be open from 8 am (08:00 hrs) to 6 pm (18:00 hrs) daily (Mon – Fri) and from 7 am (07:00 hrs) to 6 pm (18:00 hrs) on Saturday and Sunday.
Tee times will be limited to 3 balls with a 14 minute gap between 3 balls.
Play will be restricted only to those who are on the time-sheet and is confined to members only. This is to align with Government Guidance in relation to contact tracing and must be strictly adhered to. No visitors, guests, non members and Juniors allowed for the first three weeks.
Members of Management, Men’s and Ladies Committees will be taking an active role to ensure that only those on the time-sheet play. Please respect the Volunteers who have willingly given up their free time in order to help keep everyone safe and please adhere to their instructions. Members not on the time-sheet will be refused access to the course.
There will be no priority booking which include Captains, Seniors, Traders and other groups etc.
Furthermore the course will be closed each evening at 8 pm (20:00 hrs). Gate to the course will be locked and players must have left the course at that stage. All these measures are to facilitate contact tracing at the club should the need arise and are only temporary.
Please ensure both in the car park and on the course that you observe social distancing. Do not park beside each other and keep at least one car parking space between you and the other person and use the full car park. Once golf is finished please go directly home.
Practice/Bunker & Other Facilities
The practice green is not in use and players should not enter the course until the group ahead have left the first tee and are partially down the fairway (50 metres).
Bunkers are not in play at this moment in time.
The bar and restaurant remain closed until further notice.
We hope that you enjoy your return to golf. Let’s keep it safe and look after each other.
