The Junior Foursomes team turned in a great performance last Monday & Tuesday, going all the way to the final of the regional qualifying event that took place in New Ross. Having qualified in fourth, they faced top seeds Rosslare in the semi final and managed to seal a place in the final with a narrow victory. New Ross faced Kilkenny in a dramatic final, which was decided on the 19th hole, with Kilkenny squeezing through. Well done to Michael Ryan Jnr, Ronán Whelan, David Walsh, Michael Doyle, Aidan and team manager John Monahan.
The South Leinster Team’s run came to an end in the third round against a very strong Bunclody team last Thursday. New Ross managed to take an away match, but lost two matches at home. Well done to the team, and their manager Jim Meggs on a very good performance.
The Senior Cup Team were also out of luck against Tullamore in Kilkenny on Saturday.
We’ve received the highest praise from visitors to our course over the last couple of months and we would like to keep those compliments coming – and you can do your part. Please remember to rake bunkers, replace divots and repair pitch marks. If you see litter on the course, please pick it up and bin it.
Find the Joker
Last week’s winner of the Find the Joker draw was Robbie Katus who won €30. The card turned was the Jack of Diamonds. The jackpot is now €4,215 mark. There are only 7 cards left unturned. Entries cost €2 and are taken in the bar.
